We're looking for
...a Category Manager Heat Pumps (m/f/d) to join our New Business & Innovations team at Thermondo.
You’ll help reduce the cost of installing and managing our product offering, ensuring Thermondo delivers on its promise to be the quality leader and one-stop shop for customers.
If you enjoy this
You own the heat pump category portfolio (Buderus & LG) and all peripherals from foundations and piping to controllers and fittings.
You act as the operational knowledge hub for all hardware topics; provide authoritative answers and drive the resolution of field issues together with the experts from Installation, Planning and Service.
You manage supplier relationships with Buderus & LG and other relevant suppliers; lead initial price negotiations, and hand over seamlessly to SCM/Procurement.
You discover and co‑develop new products and offerings, research new suppliers, plan and run lab validations and limited field tests and define acceptance criteria (performance, compatibility, durability, safety, etc.).
You own the BOM and SKU lifecycle, drive standardization and plug-and-play kits, and use data to improve installation quality, speed, and documentation, with smart use of AI tools.
And recognise yourself here
2+ years experience in HVAC, heat pumps, or category/product management, ideally with supplier interaction.
Engineering degree or completed SHK training.
An analytical mindset — you use installation and quality data to guide improvements.
Experienced managing product portfolios, BOMs, and suppliers, including initial pricing and contract prep.
A collaborative working style across teams (SCM, Ops, Planning, Service, Sales, Academy, Finance)
Awareness of compliance and norms, with a willingness to deepen your expertise.
Fluent communication in German and English
Confident with Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with Confluence, Google Drive, Jira, or Salesforce is a plus.
